Meet our team of osteopaths and massage therapists.
At Embrace Wellness Centre our focus is to provide you with quality health care. Health includes but can be more than eliminating painful symptoms. Working with our patients and alongside other health practitioners such as GPs, specialists, podiatrists, acupuncturists, naturopaths and dentists as required, our team approach may help you achieve optimal health results. We embrace an active approach to our treatment and encourage our patients to take an active role in their health and recovery.
We are Doctors of Osteopathic Medicine and the way we practice health care is different. We don’t see patients. We see people
Dr. Mark Parfitt (Registered Osteopath)
Mark is a UK trained Osteopath and Naturopath, graduating at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine (BCOM) in London. He is a fully qualified and registered Osteopath.
Prior to studying osteopathy, Mark served in the British Army as a Musician with the Grenadier Guards Band and as an Army Medic. On leaving the forces Mark studied as a massage therapist, working with Olympic and British masters swimmers and marathon runners.
After graduating from BCOM, Mark worked in clinics within the NHS in London, before moving to the north of England where he worked with rugby players, swimmers and soccer teams. It was during this time that Mark worked in research for patients with chronic fatigue syndrome.
Prior to moving to Australia, Mark worked in New Zealand, first in Dunedin and then Christchurch where he worked alongside psychotherapists helping patients suffering from both physical and mental strains from the earthquakes.
Mark works with patients from all aspects of life. Whether it is postural strains from office work, strains from heavy duty manual work to elderly mobility or physical fatigue.
Away from Osteopathy Mark enjoys Music (performing and writing), walking and Golf.
Dr. Stacey Mahboub (Registered Osteopath)
Stacey is a fully qualified and registered osteopath. She studied at The University of Western Sydney where she completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (Osteopathic Studies) and a Masters of Osteopathy.
After finishing her degrees, Stacey has furthered her skill set by completing a dry needling and orofacial-myology course. She successfully ran her own clinic in Western Sydney for 8 years but has decided sunny relaxed Queensland/Northern NSW is the place to be. This makes State of Origin particularly difficult.
Stacey generally uses a fairly structural approach to treatment using lots of massage, trigger point, stretching, home exercises and manipulation. She enjoys treating a wide range of conditions but the birth of her daughter and subsequent diagnosis of a rare condition called Pierre-Robin Sequence has led to a passion for treating jaw problems.
In her free time Stacey enjoys spending time with her family and playing tennis.
